Overview
SchneeAI is a platform for operating AI in production. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out what customers may not do with the services. It applies alongside the Terms of Service and any other agreement with SchneeAI.
SchneeAI is committed to AI safety. This policy reflects the safety obligations of upstream model providers, the platform’s own controls (PII scanning, content filtering, kill switch), and the broader duty to operate AI in ways that respect individuals, the law, and the integrity of services that depend on us.
Prohibited uses
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any third party to, use the services to:
Illegal activity
- Violation of law — process content, or use the services, in any manner that violates applicable local, national, or international law.
Harm to people
- Malicious or deceptive conduct — generate malware, ransomware, phishing content, social engineering attacks, or other materials intended to harm or deceive.
- Disinformation — generate content for coordinated inauthentic behavior, electoral manipulation, or large-scale deceptive information operations.
- Harassment and abuse — target individuals with threatening, harassing, hateful, or otherwise abusive content based on protected characteristics (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc.).
- Child safety — generate, request, or distribute content that exploits or harms minors, including sexualized content involving anyone reasonably believed to be under 18. SchneeAI reports confirmed incidents to the appropriate authorities.
- Stalking and doxxing — collect, aggregate, or distribute personal information about individuals without consent, or in ways that create a risk of physical or psychological harm.
Privacy and data protection
- Personal data violations — process personal data in violation of applicable law, including GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection regulations. Customer is responsible for the lawful basis and notices for any personal data submitted.
- Sensitive data exposure — submit special categories of personal data (health, biometric, sexual orientation, etc.) without appropriate lawful basis and safeguards. SchneeAI’s PII scanning may flag such content; intentionally circumventing these controls is a material breach of this AUP.
Intellectual property and deception
- Infringement — generate content that infringes another’s copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right.
- Impersonation — generate content impersonating real persons or organizations in ways that mislead or defraud.
- Plagiarism — use the services to produce work product intended to be submitted as the customer’s own without attribution where attribution is required.
Security and integrity
- Unauthorized access — attempt to gain unauthorized access to SchneeAI’s systems, customer data, or the underlying model providers’ systems.
- Abuse of resources — attempt to circumvent rate limits, budgets, or other resource controls; mining cryptocurrency; generating traffic that disrupts the services.
- Circumventing safety controls — bypass, disable, or attempt to circumvent the platform’s safety controls (PII scanning, content filters, kill switch, audit logging).
- Testing vulnerabilities — probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the services without prior written authorization.
High-risk automated decisions
- Unreviewed high-stakes decisions — use the services to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on individuals (credit, employment, housing, insurance, government benefits, criminal justice) without appropriate human review, lawful basis, and the safeguards required by applicable law.
AI-specific obligations
In addition to the prohibitions above, Customer shall:
- Review outputs before using them in customer-facing systems, particularly for accuracy, safety, and bias.
- Disclose AI use where required by applicable law or where the output is reasonably likely to be mistaken for human-generated content.
- Respect upstream provider policies — each model provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, etc.) maintains its own usage policies. Customer shall comply with the policies applicable to the models Customer selects. SchneeAI enforces these policies through the platform’s routing layer; ultimate responsibility rests with Customer.
- Configure data controls appropriate to the data Customer processes — retention windows, PII handling policies, and access controls.
Enforcement
SchneeAI reserves the right to enforce this AUP in any way we determine appropriate, including:
- Warning — written notice with a request to cure.
- Content or account restriction — throttling, suspension of specific features, or removal of content.
- Account suspension — temporary or permanent suspension of access to the services.
- Termination — termination of the Agreement with Customer.
- Refund or credit withholding — where the violation occurred after billing cycle closure.
- Legal action — where the violation may constitute a civil wrong or criminal offense.
The severity and immediacy of enforcement depends on:
- The nature and scale of the violation
- Whether the violation was inadvertent or willful
- The risk of harm to individuals, SchneeAI, or third parties
- Whether Customer has previously violated this AUP
SchneeAI may act without prior notice where the violation creates an imminent risk of harm or where required by law.
Reporting violations
To report a violation of this AUP by a SchneeAI customer, contact [email protected] with:
- The customer or service identifier involved (if known)
- A description of the violation
- Evidence (timestamps, request identifiers, output examples)
- Whether the violation is ongoing
We investigate credible reports and take action as appropriate. False reports submitted in bad faith are themselves a violation of this policy.
Reports from third parties
Third parties (non-customers) who believe their rights have been violated by content generated through SchneeAI may submit a report as described above. Where the report identifies a customer of SchneeAI, we will coordinate with the customer where appropriate and may direct the complainant to the customer for resolution.
Changes to this policy
SchneeAI may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted at least 30 days before taking effect, as described in the Privacy Policy — Changes to this policy.
