Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how the SchneeAI marketing site (schneeai.com) uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies. It applies alongside the Privacy Policy. Where the platform is offered to registered accounts in the future, separate platform-side notices will describe any additional storage.
Types of storage
We use two categories of storage on schneeai.com:
| Category | Purpose | Set when | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Remember your cookie consent choice | On your first visit, before any other storage is set | 12 months in localStorage |
| Analytics | Measure traffic and usage through Google Analytics 4 | Only after you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner | Up to 14 months (Google Analytics default retention setting) |
We do not set advertising cookies on schneeai.com. We do not sell personal information collected through cookies.
Essential storage
When you visit schneeai.com, the consent banner appears. Your choice (accept or reject analytics) is stored in localStorage under the keys schneeai-consent-choice and schneeai-consent-ts. This storage is strictly necessary to remember your decision and is set before any analytics storage loads.
Analytics storage (Google Analytics 4)
If you accept analytics cookies, schneeai.com loads Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with the following characteristics:
- Provider — Google Ireland Limited (for users in the EEA/UK/Switzerland) or Google LLC (for users elsewhere), acting as a processor on our behalf.
- Consent Mode v2 — we use Google’s Consent Mode v2. Until you accept, GA4 receives consent signals in “denied” state and does not set identifiable analytics cookies. After acceptance, GA4 sets its standard cookies.
- Cookies set by GA4 —
_ga(distinguishes users, default 13 months on this property) and_ga_<property-id>(maintains session state, default 13 months). Exact lifetimes are governed by Google’s current defaults. - IP anonymization — IP addresses are anonymized at collection so that GA4 never stores the full IP address.
- Data collected — approximate geographic region (country/city derived from anonymized IP), device type, browser, referrer, landing page, session duration, and engagement events. We do not enable Google Signals or advertising-related features.
- Retention — event-level data is retained for 14 months in our GA4 property. Aggregated reports may be retained longer.
- Purpose — understanding which content is useful, where visitors come from, and how the site performs. Lawful basis under GDPR: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for site improvement, balanced by the consent requirement and the controls described here.
Sub-processors
The analytics provider is Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). Google processes analytics data under its terms as a processor and under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. See Google’s Privacy & Terms and the Google Analytics Data Processing Amendment for details.
A complete list of sub-processors with legal entities and processing locations is in the Privacy Policy.
International data transfers
For visitors outside the EEA/UK/Switzerland, Google may process analytics data in the United States or other regions. For EEA/UK/Switzerland visitors, Google’s EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification and Standard Contractual Clauses apply. See the Privacy Policy transfer section for general transfer information.
Your choices
You can control analytics storage at any time:
- Reject on the banner — click “Reject” on the consent banner. GA4 will continue to receive cookieless pings in consent-denied state for aggregate measurement modeling, but no identifiable analytics cookies will be set on your device.
- Re-open the banner — clear
schneeai-consent-choiceandschneeai-consent-tsfrom your browser’slocalStoragefor schneeai.com. The banner will appear again on your next visit. - Disable cookies in your browser — see your browser’s help pages for cookie controls.
- Google Analytics opt-out — install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent GA4 from sending data to Google on any site.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control — your browser’s DNT or GPC signal does not automatically disable GA4 on this site today, but the consent banner defaults to “denied” until you act, so no analytics cookies are set without interaction.
Changes to this policy
We will update this Cookie Policy if we add, remove, or change analytics providers or storage behavior. Material changes will be posted at least 30 days in advance where feasible. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
